FALL NEWSLETTER-2008

GENERAL INFORMATION

It is hard to believe that 2008 is almost over. My US Travel Buddies are getting ready for Thanksgiving, and then we are all starting to get ready for Christmas and New Years. Travel Buddies does not have a trip this year for the Holiday Season, but watch for details for 2009 for a Holiday trip.

This has been a great year with a wonderful trip on the European Waterways. This is a total relaxing way to see the country and will look at doing another trip in the future. It was so nice to just walk off the ship and do your sightseeing. Everything was all included, even “Wine” with dinner.

In September we did the 14 day Alaska on the Tahitian Princess and this was a great trip, going into many ports that the regular schedules do not go. Then followed this up in October with the Fall Foliage from New York City (this city has not changed and in 1 day we got in a Play and did a good walking tour of Manhattan. Especially enjoyed Bar Harbour, what a beautiful little town, and then my next favourite was Charlottetown. The country side was “Picture Perfect”. Not saying the other places were not of interest, but I just loved the feeling of these 2 places, they had a special ambiance. Traveling on a cruise line is the only way to do the fall foliage. We did the Royal Princess and of course meals and service were excellent plus.

November sent Travel Buddies on a Hawaii cruise out of San Diego, what can I say, Hawaii is always a beautiful spot to go to and Travel Buddies has done the Hawaii trip several times over the years.

Looking forward to 2009 and starting with an Antarctica in Feb. needing female room-mate for this trip, so give me a call if interested. We then have planned in April 2009 with Valley Active Singles Group in British Columbia a great Greece trip, and then you can also add on Croatia at the end of the Greece trip if you want to extend your time over in Europe. We are also joining forces with another singles group and doing in April China and then in the Feb.2009 going to do Costa Rica. So get your names on these trips before space sells out.

The big trip for 2009 is the 30 Day Cruise from San Francisco, doing the South Pacific, New Zealand and landing in Sydney Australia. At the moment we are working on putting together a great post package for those that want to see Australia.
2010 seems so far away, but just a reminder that we have space for “Passion Play” in June, we are doing in the fall China & Tibet, so watch for details on that.

Needing roommates for all the trips, so if interested contact me as soon as possible to get on the trip you want to go on.

Next newsletter will be in the New Year, so at this time wish everyone a great Holiday Season and may next year be a better year for everyone. Thank you for your support during the year and look forward to traveling with you in the future.

Check out the Upcoming trips and see what exciting trips we have planned.
Thank you for your support, it is appreciated.

I find when going on my trips that I like to leave my car at Park N Fly, you can even get a oil change or have it cleaned when you are away. Here is a link to go to their Web Site and you can print off a coupon to get a special deal it is a electronic version of their e-coupon which entitles you to savings across Canada.

ROOM- MATES WANTED

• We are always needing room-mates for all the trips, the sooner you deposit the better, gives you the chance for upgrades if on a cruise line and also avoid dissapointment of group being sold out.

An article in our daily paper, re-enforces why Travel Buddies has the policy that everyone traveling with the group must have insurance. They state.

INSURANCE --- DON’T TAKE OFF WITHOUT IT

Whether your next vacation is to visit relatives across the country, a weekend trip to the U.S. (or in the states to Canada), a cruise or anything in-between, here are a few suggestions to help make sure you stay happy and healthy on your next vacation.

  1. Don’t leave your province-state of residence without medical insurance, as you may not have as much coverage as you think…(a lot of policies have a limit and some require you to pay for services and collect when you get home)

  2. Make sure to carry proof of travel insurance with you, along with the Companies name and phone number. Leave a copy of this information at home with family or friends, as well.

  3. Travel arrangements are often non-refundable so don’t risk losing your entire travel investments should something unexpected happen. ( Yes this does happen the unexpected and when it does it is a nightmare that no one wants to be in)
  4. Make sure your Passport is current. (most countries now require at least 6 months from date of departure)

  5. If you are a permanent resident of Canada, don’t forget that you require a Permanent Resident Card to return to Canada.
  6. Make sure that you are up to date on all your Immunizations. Contact your doctor or local travel-medicine clinic well in advance of your trip.
